Shirdi Saibaba Temple, Flushing, New York
  • The temple was housed in a residential place and established in 1994 by a few staunch devotees. It is a non-profit and non-membership organization.
  • The original house has now been demolished and a new temple is being built at the same location. The proposed temple will have a total area of 10,000sq.ft. on three floors.
  • Baba's Idol will be placed on the first floor. The second floor will be utilized as a meditation hall and the basement will accommodate the kitchen and dining hall.
  • The temple dome is built on the same pattern as that of the Shirdi Mandir. Baba's Idol is carved from white marble and is about 8ft. tall.
  • Moorthi Praana Prathishta is expected to be done sometime in January 2007. Dhuni is not contemplated.
  • As mentioned, the Mandir was started in a small place in 1994. Today, more than 2500 devotees are on the mailing list.
  • Although the building has been dismantled to house the new temple, all activities are being performed in a small place at the same location.
  • The same family who generally are entrusted with this job has made the Idol at Mumbai.
